We’re taking you now to Korea, precisely in Seoul, to look at a very modern hospital interior design. Samsung apparently had been asking Hyunjoon Yoo Architect to make this hospital interior. The result is an ultimately striking modern hospital interior. The interiors at this hospital which was done by the Korean architecture looks very spacious, unlike many common hospitals where the rooms are usually small, have no windows and seem to be separated from the outside world.
In defining the term “health” a good color was applied to this modern hospital design. Green, a color that isn’t just refreshing but also rejuvenating as it can quickly help the psychological effect of patients. The Kangbuk Samsung Hospital Total Healthcare Center was designed to improve hospital architectural design and issues, where mostly some hospitals are plainly in white which are very ironic and frustrating when seen.
We like how each of the hospital floor plans have their own theme of natural elements like water, earth, trees, and wind. They certainly don’t look pale. Water and Wind is the hospital floor plan designated for the hospital lobby area. Here you will be introduced with natural light as much as possible, using existing glass stairs. This light is reflected back through the pool hall that is located under the stairs.
Reception Hall floor plan goes under the theme of forest, where patient that once entered this place will meet ivy walls on both sides, which supply oxygen to the space through photosynthesis. The lobby and reception at this hospital interior are connecting by small water channel, that when you hear the sound it will calm the patients that waits for the medical checkup.
Kangbuk Samsung Hospital Total Healthcare Center isn’t just a hospital for the sick, this modern hospital interior allows patients to easily find the way, wait comfortably reading a book or enjoy the paintings while walking through the halls. Check more at Hyunjoon Yoo Architects.
